Full-Textile Chain・Weaving the Future - Deepening Greater Bay Area Collaboration and Jointly Expanding International Markets

Organized by the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and co-organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and the Hong Kong Textile Council, the "Greater Bay Area Textile Industry Trade Matching Event" was successfully held in Shenzhen on 28 July 2026.
The event brought together over 60 high-quality enterprises across the industrial chain, as well as more than 200 professional buyers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, covering fields such as textile technology, fabrics and accessories, knitting yarns, original fashion designs, and garment manufacturing. One-on-one business matching sessions were held on-site, where supply and demand parties engaged in in-depth discussions on products, quality standards, supply capabilities, and cooperation models. A number of enterprises and buyers reached preliminary intentions on sample making, procurement, and channel cooperation.
Zeng Huacheng, Deputy Director General of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and Dr. Bernard Chan Pak-li, JP, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government, delivered speeches respectively, sharing insights on deepening economic and trade cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong, as well as promoting the high-quality development of the textile and garment industry in the Greater Bay Area.
Deputy Secretary Chan Pak-li stated that the SAR Government has established the "Mainland Enterprises Going Global Task Force," integrating resources from government departments, public institutions, and professional services. Through a three-step strategy of "bringing in, gearing up, and joining hands to go global," the task force provides enterprises with one-stop support including cross-border fund management, legal and financial services, testing and certification, marketing, and overseas market connection, helping enterprises leverage Hong Kong's unique advantage of "connecting the mainland with the rest of the world" to optimize their global supply chain layout.
During the event, industry players from the mainland and Hong Kong signed four memoranda of understanding (MOUs) to further promote cooperation in trade, fashion creativity, knitwear innovation, and design:
  • The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and the Hong Kong Federation of Textile Industries signed an MOU, represented by Bosco Law Ching-kit, JP, Chairman of the Hong Kong Textile Council;
  • The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Textile signed an MOU, represented by Wong Ting-chung, SBS, JP, Superintendent of the Hong Kong Textile Chamber of Commerce;
  • The Dalang Town Wool Textile Industry Service Center and the Knitwear Innovation and Design Society signed an MOU, represented by Peter Hui, Chairman of the Association;
  • Shenzhen Original Fashion Week and Fashion Farm Foundation signed an MOU, represented by Professor Au Wai-man, MH, Director of FFF.
A roundtable dialogue was held under the theme "Greater Bay Area Textile and Garment Industry 'Jointly Sailing Global': Mainland Smart Manufacturing + Hong Kong Channel – How to Build New Global Competitive Advantages." Cheng Man Tak,Richad Election Committee member for the textile and garment sector, along with several industry representatives, engaged in in-depth exchanges on Greater Bay Area collaboration, brand internationalization, supply chain integration, and international market expansion, jointly exploring new pathways for integrated industrial development.
Election Committee members for the textile and garment sector will continue to consolidate industry voices, promote Hong Kong's advantages in international trade, professional services, creative design, and brand promotion, deepen collaboration with the mainland industrial chain, and assist the industry in seizing new opportunities arising from Greater Bay Area development and enterprises' global expansion.
